Ferah felt the presence of her brother Montay in the shed, his vulnerable state as a snake in molt, and reached out instinctively to comfort; he may have been older than her, but he was still her baby brother.
She also noted Jimann’s intrusion into his thoughts, and immediately stepped back and masked from her former lover-turned-enemy.
“This is worse than I thought!” Ferah’s mind flooded with anger and the tiniest bit of panic, as her thoughts spun further, “I need to rethink the alliances and make a plan so…when the rest of the gnome crew arrives today, they’re all going fishing, to give me peace and quiet.”
Quickly, she gathered a bucket full of potatoes from the sand bins, hooked down a few herbs from the rafters, including ones that would quickly still Fernlodth’s thundering stomach upset.
With a light mental touch, she felt that Jimann had backed away after his promise/threat to her brother, and Montay was safe, if uncomfortable; assured, she stepped out of the shed and closed the door quietly behind her.

Not unexpected that Ferah would want to help Montay in spite of all the nasty, nasty business that went on. What was she thinking getting involved with Jimann!!

Nicely described scene in the shed. It revealed more about her relationships with Montay and Jimann and made me wonder what she was suddenly concerned about and how she planned to deal with it.
