“Hey, you got a moment?” Jake tapped the screen door once before pushing it open, its steel spring screeching objection at the interruption.
Elmer straightened up in his chair, put down the fly he was tying in the full afternoon sun, and sighed, saying “What is it now, boy?”
“I’ve got a great idea on how we can make a lot of money,” he enthused, adding “It draws on your talent for all things fly fishing, and my mad talent for pitching great and creative ideas.”
Elmer answered with a sour grimace and thought, not this again!
Undaunted, Jake sat down across from his grandfather and launched into another “foolproof” scheme to upset Elmer’s perfectly adequate retirement plan.

You have to admire his entrepreneurial spirit! Just a shame he aims it at Gramps!

Nothing like youthful enthusiasm to disrupt a peaceful (and well-funded) retirement!

Might be too early, but I think I’m detecting a trend, (if not an outright theme), among this week’s Sixes.
The necessary, if not problematic, balance between the enthusiasm of youth and the wisdom of age.
Will stop back after I’ve made the rounds.

One wonders the number of hobbies the grandfather will need to change before Jake runs out of ‘ideas’ to monetize them.

Maybe just needs to say “No. Buzz off, kid!”
Or take the kid fishing…😉🤗

Elmer needs to draw boundary lines, if his money is being used for the startups.

He keeps trying, but I think his grandson’s focused on his ability to tie flies for fly fishing. THIS time

It sounds like Jake is going to keep his grandfather busy through retirement. At least he will be fly fishing. Nice tale!
