Simple Prayer

cracked heart picture in pavement

You shout and tell me it’s not fair,

To give you one more chance, to dare.

That moon and all the stars are mine,

If I bow down just one more time.

The song you sing I’ve heard before:

The moon, the stars and even more.

Your god is chaos, broken dreams.

You’ll find your way,

Or not, it seems.

I walk away through icy snow: one bag, my pet, and yes, my soul.

The challenge? Write a story in 6 sentences, no more & no less, and if you’d like, share your creation or just visit and comment on others’ ideas, with GirlieOnTheEdge, Denise. The prompt is “FAIR”, and here’s where you join the party: Six Sentence Stories

  1. Most excellent, Liz. The strength to stand alone is no sacrifice even if left only with a bag, a pet and your soul. There is more security and comfort in those 3 objects than anything (self) compromise could offer.

  2. I’m with Frank… (and your reply, makes a body look at the scrawled-over, distorted legend of Lilith with a more open mind*)

    Engaging Six.
    nicely done.

*sorry, the biblical reference just elbowed it’s way to the keyboard!
