Eyes closed, I meander down grassy garden paths
Banks of roses nod and sing their fragrant earth song
Petrichor retreats under rosy rising sun
Sky yawns and stretches, a shell of robin’s egg blue
Bees whisper secrets
Drunken
Wobbling, pollen baskets spill gold clouds
Joy-bumping, they enter the hive
Hungry larvae laugh
Eyes open, I roll to my back
Meet eyes of vigilant green
A chirrup to say hello
Starting a circuit around my head
Dark moon crosses a blanket sky
To rest on my chest, demanding attentions
Breakfast anon, and coffee too
But first
The cat gets morning scritches
