[This appears to be number 3 in a series that began with “Time 5”, which also ended another series “Time 1-5”. Patience please: just feeling my way along.]
He swore he’d loved her from the moment she first emerged from the ocean, dark hair streaming darker, glittering sea foam sluicing down her lithe young body; perhaps it was merely a vision of their future, because it was more than a decade later when first they spoke.
He also said he’d been hunting the Great Wild Haggis in the enchanted forests that cradled the foot of the mountain range, when she’d emerged, damp and autumn red from the weeping clouds above. He’d shot and missed his quarry, but she came with the biggest beast ever, slung over her strong back, with a ferocious, generous smile and wild sorceress call.
That night they’d feasted, and wed in the castle’s tower room, the one that faced the boundless ocean; so their family began: a succession of stories told, both humorous and heartbreaking, seasoning their long life together.

And now that both had departed, the journeywoman had a promise to fulfill, to return the relic given by her queen-mother to its origin in the mountainous glacier above. Horse nudged her shoulder and blew in her face to remind her to sleep; tomorrow’s odyssey to return and restore balance would be arduous.

What a wonderful story this far! I was particularly interested about the ‘Great Wild Haggis’ even though it got away.😉

Thanks Chris. Yeah, among the Scots, the haggis is not just for breakfast any more. They’re sentient critters. 😉😄

Loved the first sentence… the MCs meeting made memorable yet, to a certain degree indistinguishable in terms of Time.
really sets the vibe
