After a decade of attempted stops,
Dangerous actions to hasten the end,
I need you to dial it back from ten to three.
Because this time, it’s real.
This time, you’re not in control.
Your body’s exhausted and
Rage no longer gives you that bump.
You’ve settled into calm acceptance, but me?
I need a little more time
To restart my own clock.
