Rhonda made sure to never be first in line, nor last to leave, always included but never singled out. But just between her shoulder blades, an itch whispered, “Step forward…take a risk!”
Joel always led the charge and won the day, the paragon of success. Really, he was tired and lonely.
The two passed, walking the Skyhigh Bridge. His phone rang. He yanked it from his pocket. It tumbled over the railing, teetering on the outer ledge.
Rhonda smiled, “Let it go, Joe.”
Meeting angelic eyes, he tapped the phone off the ledge with his foot.
Double redemption accomplished.

I knew I was going to like this one just from reading the title! But then it went in a different direction than I thought, and I liked it even better!
