A Gift of Bread-Making
Woke up to 20 below this morning, and that was AFTER sunrise. It is MLK Jr. Day today, even as the eldritch forces attempt to smudge this from our memories. We remember, and we move forward in reverence to his—and our—mission.

My li’l rebellious self
Chooses colors of the nose
Instead of focusing on the eyes
I offer you instead
Perfumes of butter, brown sugar,
Eggs and flour
Sourdough bananas
Cinnamon Nutmeg and Honey
Chocolate cranberries pecans
Slow baking and sensual
Close your eyes and inhale
Warm from my oven
To your palate
