It’s nearly the end of January, and the Northlands here hold memories of deep snow and crippling cold temps. Instead, we have 40 degrees Fahrenheit and full-on sun. Continue reading

JusJoJan and 1-liner Wednesday: Ragnarok
One liner Wednesday: “I’ll try.”
I’LL TRY to keep my shit together as I watch the speedy unraveling of an increasingly shaky world, and ready myself to gaze down through the roots of Yggdrasil at the three Norns, muttering at their weaving, while Ratatoskir with his gleaming eyes, trills laughter through his sharp teeth and throws nuts at my head. One-Liner Wednesday: Be Colorful
Be Colorful
My li’l rebellious self
Chooses colors of the nose
Instead of focusing on the eyes
I offer you instead
Perfumes of butter, brown sugar,
Eggs and flour
Sourdough bananas
Cinnamon Nutmeg and Honey
Chocolate cranberries pecans
Slow baking and sensual
Close your eyes and inhale
Warm from my oven
To your palate

Just Stop
(Forgive my show of ill-temper)
Signed and certified
The orange skidmark
Slides down the back
Of US underpants
Floods our shoes
And stains the news
We make a mockery
Of our democracy

The Saga of Dreamy McBean
Another year of Just Jot It January. Thank you Linda & crew for inspiration!
January 1, One-Liner Wednesday: “Let’s start the new year off right. Who wants a coffee?”
The Saga of Dreamy McBean
Had me a coffee
His name was McBean
Tall, dark and handsome
With a splash of some cream.
No work done this morning
Stayed up all the night
When I finish my second
I’ll be feelin’ alright.
