Join us for a weekly blog party in Six Sentence Stories, hosted by Denise and attended by some mighty fine, fun folk. Prompt word=PUZZLE. Read, write and come back for more SIX SENTENCE STORIES. (Link goes active Wed night).
Shuffle the cards, cut, and cut again to unlock the puzzle of how to move forward. The Literary Oracle Deck is elegantly boxed and illustrated, its sleek guidebook rich with character, guidance, and affirmation, especially if you’ve read the literary stories that inspire.
“Just for today,” she murmurs as she concentrates, passes a receptive hand over the deck, finally pulling a single card: Eliza Doolittle and George Bernard Shaw, suggesting Metamorphosis (Transformation—Evolution—Identity). She laughs, delighted, as the cards of late have been more warning than encouragement. Perhaps she’ll skip the Rider-Waite reading today.
She definitely needs more dance and song to push through.

An Oracle Deck looks like it might be, I don’t know, if ‘fun’ the right word? I see they have a bunch of different kinds of decks.

They are kind of fun and great to open one’s self to free roaming, getting out of the rut. And they make for good writing prompts, as well!

Is there one you recommend or are they all pretty good? I saw one called ‘Woodland Wardens’ that looked nice.

I’m enjoying the Literary Oracle cards mentioned in the post (very affirming, not as complex & fraught as the trad Tarot), but I’m new to playing with these things

Take your inspiration where you find it and run, or dance, with it.

It’s an actual Oracle deck, and there’s a cool variety. Worth checkin’ out!

Sometimes inspiration is for encouragement; sometimes for warning. May we respond appropriately.

Agreed. Or at least, break out of a ruthless and consider new possibilities. Thanks, Frank!

Ooh I love the idea about that very interesting deck – a bit like a tarot but better!

The Oracle cards are a different, lit-based venture. Fun!

That reminds me of someone close to me who arranged their day according to what the cards said.
Every single morning, like a ritual.
Sometimes I wish for such advice too but the art is in interpretation, no?
Good six!

Yes, I agree. The art of dream interpretation is the story one tells when relating the threads of dream.
