Find the right tool
To deal with this fool
This meeting is running too long
Boomerang comes back
To cause me more flack
I just wish to stop new hire’s song
Just one well-placed hit
On the neck of this nit
To break the flood water of words
A slingshot held low
Might be the right go
Interruption most easily served
No one is impressed
By the suit, so well dressed
Upper management’s smiles growing thin
She’s someone’s sweet churl
A nepot with curls
Do I risk a slingshot for the win?

Today’s prompt is SLINGSHOT. To join in the fun of Just Jot It January (reading or writing your own on the prompt), visit: https://lindaghill.com/2025/01/02/daily-prompt-jusjojan-the-2nd-2025/

Boy I can relate to this! Perhaps not the slingshot, but I’ve certainly thought “please shut up” at many of meeting!

You know the type of meeting, 4 hours and 30 participants and nobody says anything that means anything

Like Dilbert (of Scott Adams fame) said, “Ahh, meetings. The creative alternative to work.”🙃

Except if you’re “boots on the ground” staff. Those folks work directly with clients in dire need. They don’t have time for those kinds of shenanigans. All respect to the underpaid & pure of heart. 😉

This has to be read aloud to get the rhythm etc. And so I did and liked. ;)
