“Okay then, Shadowman says we have to band together, that we each have to play our parts, right place, right order, or we’re screwed,” said Ducks, straightening up as the Scottish Mage, in the Shadow World, finished his instructions to The Twins.

“Language,” noted Chuckie, beside her sister, adding, “So Mom, you and Weezie have to go past Andrew and behind the…the what was it again?…the gate, he says.”

“I’m not going anywhere without Andrew,” Bethany snapped, as she pulled out of Eloise’s arms.

Andrew, his voice shaking, said “Just do what they say, Mom. I can’t see or hear Shadowman, either, but the other guy you can’t see, who’s here, too, seems to be the real deal.”

“I don’t know if this is a good dream or a bad one, but all right,” sighing, Bethany took Eloise’s hand and stepped carefully, worriedly, around her son.
