The task is to write a story in 6 sentences, no more no less, and if you’d like, share your creation or just visit and comment, with GirlieOnTheEdge, Diana. The prompt is ‘’Wax”, and here’s where you join the party:

He was proud of his quarantine ‘stache; his teeth shone handsomely behind the luxuriant brush of hair.
Like many of his old-school buddies, he’d watched with great amusement as hair went long, then short, then business up front and party in the back, then shaved and polished, as belled blue jeans hung off bony hips, then hugged belly buttons and flat asses, then went from indigo blue to artistically bleached, to black stovepipes, and finally, mysteriously changed to pale baggy chinos; he’d resisted them all as a sign of rebellion against the establishment of beautiful people.
He shook his head, hiked up his sweatpants, and thanked God that he’d been mandated to work remotely; all staff meetings were currently held online, and he hoped that would never change. He’d sailed comfortably into his sixties, finally able to sprout a decent lawn of facial hair that seemed to please the ladies; his online dating profile was getting lots of positive hits. And now that there was an easily available vaccine said to be 99.9 percent success rate and the virus was mostly vanquished, it was time to answer some of those flirty winks in person.
The beard had had to go, of course, but the mustache was a wonder of virile masculinity; he dipped into the mustache wax and began to twist and sculpt.

The only person I have ever thought looked good with a moustache was Tom Selleck. And a waxed moustache? Ewwww! Great Six

Oh my! That stache could put out an eye! I hope he at least trims it or the ladies may exit quickly!

Yowee! I can’t imagine the upkeep/maintenance on a mustache like that! Surely, one would be bumping into all sorts of things and how difficult to put on a pullover sweater?!
Fashion over the decades is a fascinating trip 😀

I didn’t realize they used mustache wax, but that makes sense to keep it shaped. I also liked his “rebellion against the establishment of beautiful people”.

Oh, dear! That’s a mustache! I’ve had a beard since 1971 and have never waxed the stasche. Just too much work!
