After a crackling-hard winter, she was relieved to drag the Adirondack chair out of the shed. Morning sun dappled through the leafy canopy overhead, warm enough to make outdoor morning coffee outdoors feasible, but not enough to waken mosquitoes.
This vision had carried her through those brutal months before retirement. Leaning back, she stretched her bare toes into the dewy grass and smiled. Too early for ticks, too!
“I left the nest. God-willing, may all my mornings be blessed like this.”
A nestling sparrow plummeted through the trees and onto her lap. He glared up at her through sparse fluff.

Both are determined to fly after leaving the nest! Great imagery, too. I want that dappled cup of coffee. Those fine days are few, but so memorable.

And God has other plans about freedom from responsibility…dropped right into her lap! 😉

Ah, we might have free will, but God nudges us to use it to take care of others. I like that underlying positive message.

This reads like a BOTS. Oh, how I love morning coffee outside during those early days of summer!

There is good flying to be done from an adirondack chair. Although in this flash that was also the landing strip.
